Sharon E. Best has
been in private practice in West Seattle since 1990. Operating as a sole
practitioner and hiring several associates over the years, the business has
long been known as “Sharon E. Best & Associates.”
Heather S. de Vrieze
joined the practice in 1998 and in 2008 was welcomed by Sharon as a partner.
The new firm name is “Best & de Vrieze, PLLC.” We are located in “The
White House” at 3909 California Avenue in West Seattle. The
practice focuses on real estate issues, estate planning, trusts, wills,
probate and elder law. We also handle escrow closings. Click on the titles below to view

real estate issues commonly handled by the office include negotiations
concerning commercial and residential purchase and sales, residential and
commercial escrows, deeds of trust foreclosures, boundary issues, and aspects
of land use. We
handle estate planning for individuals and couples of all ages. Our planning ranges from simple to complex
and includes provisions for minor and disabled beneficiaries, if required. We work with clients to tailor plans
minimizing or eliminating estate taxes. We can
assist with estate administrations from the very simple to the more
complex. Generally we do not handle
contested estates and refer our clients to attorneys more experienced with
such litigation. Elder
law can encompass several of the above areas of law, as well as issues of
Medicaid planning and other cost of care issues for elderly clients or
elderly family members of clients. We
try to work with families to encourage cooperation and facilitate smooth
administration when an elder is dealing with capacity issues. We can also help draft documents to prepare
for incapacity and facilitate enforcement of those documents after
